ABOUT Design Toscano

Design Toscano was first founded in the USA back in 1990, it has grown to be America’s premier source for Creative Resin Animal statuary and other historical and antique replicas.

In the New Zealand we are working directly with the UK and USA teams to bring the extensive range of Design Toscano products to New Zealand.  We are very excited to start this new endeavour and look at offering  to you our own flavour of the amazing product portfolio and one of the industry’s most exciting Animal, Statuary and Ornamental resin ranges ever to be seen. 

Our New Zealand range is only just scraping the tip of the Design Toscano products available.  Our challenge is to regularly increase the products available and hope you, our customers will help in offering suggestions in the products you would like to see in our range.

Michael and Marilyn Stopka, created Design Toscano while on a trip to Paris, the Stopkas first saw the marvellous carvings of gargoyles and water spouts at the Notre Dame Cathedral. Inspired by the beauty and mystery of these pieces, they decided to introduce a resin range of medieval gargoyles in 1993. On a later trip to Albi, France, the Stopkas had the pleasure of being exposed to the world of Jacquard tapestries that they added quickly to the growing product range. Since then, our product line has grown to include Egyptian, Medieval and other period pieces that are now among the current favourites of Design Toscano customers, along with an extensive collection of Animal, Classical Statuary, Mystical as well as an Ornamental garden range. 

The Design Toscano brand (USA), prides themselves on attention to detail by travelling directly to the source for all historical replicas. Over 90% of the product ranges are exclusive to the Design Toscano brand, allowing them to present unusual decorative items unavailable elsewhere. The attention to detail extends throughout the company, especially in the areas of innovation and customer service.
